Are you an enthusiastic and collaborative Human Resources Generalist with experience in the public sector?
The City of Port Moody is excited to add two new regular full-time Human Resources Advisor positions to join our small, but mighty team! These positions will provide HR generalist support to the organization, provide expert guidance, and will backfill each other. Currently, one position will focus on high volume recruitment and job evaluation support, while the other will focus on labour relations and disability management support. Both positions will contribute to, and be well versed in, all aspects of human resources in order to support the City's programs, strategic direction, and evolving business needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide HR services, advice, and guidance to all levels of City staff. Apply best practices and build positive working relationships to deliver results.
• Support progressive labour relations, learning, and disability management activities for the organization
• Implement corporate learning strategy and our leadership development program; assist with collective agreement administration, support collective bargaining and other labour relations activities; administer Worksafe BC claims, return to work plans, and employee support
• Facilitate and participate in high volume recruitment and selection activities for vacancies in all City departments and collaborate on strategies to attract and retain talented individuals
• Support the annual achievement planning process; performance management; job description development; and administer the job evaluation process.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Three to five years of progressively responsible generalist human resources experience encompassing all of the HR functional areas in a multi-union, public-sector environment
• A degree or diploma in a related field and have or are working towards CPHR designation
• Excellent knowledge of all areas of human resource services
• Self-motivated and resourceful team player, with a strong commitment to customer service
• Strong ability to analyze issues, identify various courses of action and their implications, and gain support for the direction sought and / or organizational initiatives
• Familiarity with human resources best practices, collective agreement administration, employment legislation
• Proficiency with MS Office, ERP and/or HRIS systems, and applicant tracking systems
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion
• Organized, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
