In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing all City-owned and leased vehicles and equipment—including emergency response units and heavy-duty equipment. These are the tools that support public safety, infrastructure, and vital community services every day.

What You’ll Do:

•    Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all City-owned and leased vehicles and equipment.
•    Conduct welding and fabrication work both in the shop and out in the field.
•    Support special projects and collaborate with other departments to ensure fleet readiness.
•    Help keep Port Moody moving—safely and reliably.

This position typically works M-F, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Pay rate is $42.91 to $46.20 per hour (2024 rates)

Basic Qualifications:
•    Minimum 3 years' experience as a Journeyman with Red Seal Interprovincial qualification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Mechanic (Truck and Transport Mechanic) in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty construction equipment, heavy duty trucks, and machinery 
•    Valid CVIP Inspector's certificate  
•    Experience planning and directing a quality assurance program for a wide variety of municipal equipment 
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts 
•    Class 3 BC Driver's license with Air Endorsement
•    EVT Certification would be an asset
