Job Description Front Counter Clerk (Police)

The Port Moody Police Department is searching for a customer service-oriented individual for the Auxiliary position of Front Counter Clerk (Police). As part of a team, you will support the department including ordering office supplies, processing invoices, answering public inquiries, operating a variety of police information systems including CPIC, PRIME, and PIRS, typing a variety of correspondence and other general office work.

Please note that employment with the Port Moody Police Department is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory police background check.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a police environment (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Knowledge and experience with PRIME, CPIC, PIRS and police terminology
  • Proficiency and thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and keyboarding
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with challenging and stressful situations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to use sound and independent judgement
