The City of Port Moody is seeking Auxiliary Parks Hosts to monitor and remind patrons about physical distancing in parks and to provide information to park users. These position will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills while following operational and safety procedures.

The Parks Host will work alongside Parks staff, or independently, to monitor all City parks, with a focus on Rocky Point Park, Shoreline Trails, Old Orchard Park and Bert Flinn Park.  Parks Hosts will provide information to park and trail users and remind them of physical distancing. The position will note park use and utilize a Parks app that includes taking photographs and documenting park user information at key locations.

Basic Qualifications:

•    Secondary school graduation (Grade 12) and some job related experience providing customer service, preferably in a Parks and Recreation environment
•    Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required; a familiarity with Port Moody parks would be an asset
•    The ability to perform physical work outside in all weather conditions
•    Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle preferred

This position requires availability for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Please note that employment with the City of Port Moody is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory driver's abstract as well as a satisfactory police information check.
